Edwards Tavern was proud to look after SES volunteers and American Firefighters. We received a call from the Department of Sustainability and Environment at around 5.30 pm. "We're sending 77 firefighters in for dinner in 30 minutes". We know they like eating BIG in the US so our chefs cooked up a storm. Many of the American firefighters recalled stories of horrific bushfires in North America and Aussies flying across to help out. Our Aussie SES volunteers give up their time to assist communities not only during bushfires, but road accidents, floods, storms and other emergencies.
